Heaphero Enterprise Edition has a lot more capabilities than our ‘free’ Public edition. It provides features like Problem detection, Security, Dashboard, Search reports, 100% automated data capturing, 360-degree data analysis, Report comparison, remote data capturing, bundle upload, Report Deletion, etc. This article compares the top 10 features between Heaphero Public (free), and Enterprise Edition.
Here is the video in which all the below features are explained
1. Problem detection
In the Public Free edition report, you can see only whether your application is suffering from a problem or not, Whereas in Enterprise edition, Heaphero applies several heuristics and machine learning algorithms to detect various memory-related problems. It also provides recommendations, JVM settings to address those problems.
2. Users
In the Public Free edition, only one user can use the account, whereas in Enterprise Edition, any number of users in your organization can use the tool. There is no restriction on the number of users who can use the tool. Enterprise Edition provides integration with your internal LDAP/SAML provider to facilitate single Sign-On. More details about it can be found in this article.
3. Uploads
In the Public Free edition, 5 uploads and 5 REST API calls can be made in a month with 50 mb/file.
Whereas in Enterprise edition, uploads, REST API calls and file size are unlimited
4. Security
In the Public Free Edition, data is stored and runs on our Heaphero cloud whereas in Enterprise edition, data is stored and runs on your on-premise. The primary reason why our customers buy Enterprise Edition is security. Heap dump from the production environment is considered as CONFIDENTIAL information in several enterprises. Thus, major enterprises do not want to transmit their confidential information on the internet and process it on our servers.
5. 100% Automatic data capturing and analysis
In the Public Free edition, someone has to manually capture heap dump files from your production environment and then manually upload the dump files to the tool for analysis. Whereas in Enterprise Edition, it is both automatic and manual. Heap dumps are automatically captured using platform-independent ‘Go lang’ scripts and analyzed. This ‘Go Lang’ script not only captures Heap dumps but also captures a lot more artifacts to identify the root cause of the performance problem instantly.
6. 360-degree analysis
The Public edition is capable of analyzing only the Heap dump files, whereas Enterprise Edition captures and analyzes 360-degree artifacts (GC log, thread dump, heap dump, netstat, vmstat, disk usage, kernel logs, kernel parameter, top, top -H, ps, …) to identify the root cause of the performance problem instantly.
7. Cool Features – Dashboard, Search, Comparison
Enterprise Edition provides several cool features like Dashboard, Search reports, Report comparison, remote data capturing, bundle upload, and a lot more features. These features aren’t available in the Public Edition.
8. Micro-metrics Monitoring (m3)
Unlock the full potential of your applications with our Enterprise Edition, equipped with the revolutionary Micro-metrics Monitoring feature. Predict and prevent outages before they even occur, and gain invaluable insights into your application’s performance. With the Enterprise Edition, enjoy the benefits of near-zero overhead and non-intrusive data collection. It’s the ultimate solution for staying ahead of the game, ensuring seamless performance, and maintaining the highest level of reliability.
9. Tools Integration
Enterprise Edition integrates with your ITSM tool such as JIRA, ServiceNow… whenever new incidents are detected in the production environment, tickets are automatically created in your ITSM tools. Similarly, Enterprise Edition integrates with several APM (application performance tools) such as New Relic, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus. This feature is not available in Public Free Edition
10. Collaboration
In Public Edition, there is no report sharing and exporting Capability whereas in Enterprise edition, you can share the report link with your team members and Export the report as a PDF or a JSON File.
